Evidence for Neoproterozoic terrane accretion in the central Borborema Province, West Gondwana deduced by isotopic and geophysical data compilation

The Borborema Province in NE Brazil is part of a large Neoproterozoic orogenic system related to the assembly West Gondwana. Its evolution contentious, due superposition events that overprinted former records. We present compilation geological, isotopic (U-Pb detrital zircon and whole-rock Sm-Nd), geophysical data support terrane accretion model for Transversal subprovince (central Province). Bounded by thrust- strike-slip shear zones regional extent, terranes vary nature age, magmatic-arc rocks, retro-eclogites, dismembered ophiolites provide evidence accretion. In addition, suggests variable sources, including Palaeoproterozoic detritus Rio Capibaribe Alto Moxotó sources attributed Pajeú Piancó-Alto Brígida blocks. Accordingly, Archaean Nd TDM ages are concentrated within terranes, whereas early- late Mesoproterozoic dominate Brígida. A robust shows contrasts magnetic, gamma-spectrometric, gravity signatures between modelled depths density values variable, coinciding with proposed boundaries. Our analysis now eroded oceanic lithospheric branches existed subprovince, later converted into dry suture zones. Terrane plausible mechanism rearrange crustal pieces Gondwana, those Province, should be considered other belts South America.
